Supporting Parents Through Challenging Behaviors, Guilt, and Self-Doubt
Sarah Whitney LMFT 131059
Clinical Supervisor
I work with parents who feel overwhelmed by their child’s behavior, caught in cycles of frustration, or quietly carrying guilt about how things have been going. If you’ve found yourself reacting in ways you didn’t intend, second-guessing your decisions, or wondering if you’re getting it “wrong,” you’re not alone.
How I Support Clients
-
Understanding your child's behavior without blame
-
Learning how to respond intentionally
-
Letting go of shame and building confidence
-
Teaching effective communication and coping
-
Guiding you to meaningful change
My Approach
My approach is grounded, compassionate, and practical. I believe that most parents aren’t lacking effort—they’re lacking the support, understanding, and space to slow things down and respond differently. Together, we make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, so you can feel more steady, more confident, and more connected to your child.
A Bit About Me
Outside of my work, I value slowing down and staying present. Something I know isn't easy in the middle of everyday parenting. Like many parents, I understand how quickly things can feel overwhelming, and how much pressure there is to handle it all "the right way."
That understanding shapes how I show up in my work: with patience, curiosity, and a deep respect for how hard parenting can be.
